This photo of Raven was taken during his first stay in ECW, courtesy of Kat. This is a photo of the infamous and controversial "crucifixion" angle in ECW in 1996. Raven crucified the Sandman in this never-aired angle, which saw ECW lose its slot on The Sunshine Network and forced Raven to break character and publicly apologize for it. Kurt Angle, then a hot property due to his recent gold medal win in freestyle wrestling at the 1996 Summer Olympic Games, also mentioned this incident, which he was in attendance at in the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, PA as a reason why he didn't want to be involved in professional wrestling at the time in his book, "It's True, It's True." |
This photo of Raven is from Tomart's Action Figure Digest #95 from December 2001, courtesy of RaVen962. It shows Raven backstage at a WWF live event in Southern California aboard the full-body scanning truck of Gentle Giant Studios of Malibu, California. Gentle Giant scans all the WWF Superstars for Jakks Pacific, the holders of the WWF's master toy license, for use in producing WWF action figures and video games with computer scanned 3-D modeled likenesses. Gentle Giant takes the full-body scanning rig to every major WWF live event in Southern California in order to scan as many WWF Superstars as possible at one time, since that is their base of operations. |
This photo of Raven was taken at a WWF house show in January 2002. Raven has been working untelevised live WWF events since the WCW/ECW Alliance "Invasion" angle. He has changed his look a great deal since then, still sporting a kilt, but now has platinum blonde braided hair and added bulk since his last WWF TV appearance in November 2001. |
This photo of Raven with the ECW World title belt is an ECW promotional photo from 1996 after Raven gained the ECW World Championship title by defeating The Sandman. You'll notice Raven doesn't have his barbed wire tattoo in this photo which dates it before his 12/7/96 ECW championship victory over Sandman which that tattoo commemorates. |
